Fits perfectly. Construction matches the high quality of your iPad. Glossy plastic is sure to collect finger prints and scratch so I would prefer a matte black but maybe that is coming. Don’t waste your money elsewhere, this case is well worth it and should protect your iPad from most abuse.

This case is very similar to the candy shell case for my ipod touch, which is one reason that I bought it.
It is thicker proportionally than the iPod case, which makes it seem heavier than it needs to be, but it can also absorb the additional kinetic energy due to the greater mass of this larger device (on which I am typing now).
The volume and power buttons are repeated through buttons on the case, instead of simple holes in the case.
The hole around the headphone Jack is large enough to accommodate the headphones without cramming them into a tiny hole.
The speaker mesh in the iPad case permits sound to pass through easily.
It is comfortable to hold and doesn’t interfere with toting or handling the iPad.
However, unlike then smaller version for the iPod touch, this version does not come with a clear screen protecting film. I was disappointed that it wasn’t included.
I don’t have a docking station so I cannot comment on the usefulness of the docking station flap.

Protects very well and a perfect fit. All keys are easily accessible. The port flap is very functional and a nice touch. The only thing I want other buyers to be aware of is; the case is a hard very smooth and not slip resistant. I think Speck makes one that is if that is what you want
At the time I got my iPad I Purchased Apples iPad case, I did not like it. So I bought this one and now have made a couple of modifications. I have added Velcro to the back of the Speck CandyShell Case (soft part of the Velcro attached to the case) and the other part of the Velcro to an old Full size Franklin Leather Planner. This serves as my carrying case and I get a lot of comments on it. It is easy to take out the iPad if I do not want my home made carrying case.

Since I first began using the Speck Cases for my families iPhones we haven’t looked back since. It’s rubber interior and smooth exterior make a great improvement in the actual feel of holding the iphone. Now to the ipad…The iPad was very clunky at first. While it is gorgeous to have and hold, it needed a quality case to protect it. And what do you know…there was a version of the Speck Candy Shell for the iPad. It drastically improved the feel of holding it to where I was not so afraid to drop it. It also comes with a flip out piece that is designed to allow it to be mounted to the iPad dock without any special attachments. While not being docked or charged, this piece protects the port on the bottom, preventing any dirt and grime from getting in there…you iphone users know how much dirt can get into the charging/syncing port. I give it an A+!!
